Full-Time AmeriCorps VISTA Outdoor Education Coordinator

Job Description
The Outdoor Education Coordinator is a full-time position working with an innovative conservation alliance serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. The VISTA will work with community leaders and conservation partners to implement and improve innovative projects to help youth and families access nature and spend more time outdoors. The Coordinator will be motivated, enjoy the outdoors, be a team player and able to work independently in diverse urban communities.
The VISTA must possess skills in:

conducting research
VISTA will be planning and implementing outdoor events, communicating success stories, and recruiting participation from our action areas. These activities will successfully impact people’s lives with increased access to nature and outdoor experiences. The VISTA will promote and implement events, activate work group meetings with stakeholders/partners, attend trainings and conferences, participate in community events and meetings, track and analyze results of the Outdoor Education events, and apply for grant funding opportunities to fund a full time Outdoor Education Coordinator after their year of service. The VISTA will implement the plan and recruit community members to experience the outdoors and connect to nature. |
