Full-Time RSVP Manager

Job Description

The Flint Hills Volunteer Center strives to meet the needs of the community by partnering with,
and through, existing agencies; while utilizing their corps of volunteers as community builders
to serve in impact-based assignments, including, Education, Disaster Relief, Suicide Prevention,
Opioid Abuse, Elder Abuse, Veterans and Military Families, Health and Wellness, and Capacity
Building.

Description
The RSVP Manager will work from an office space in the Kansas City area and is responsible for
supporting the overall volunteer plan for the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Program in the
Wyandotte, Johnson County, and Jackson County, MO area. This includes, but is not limited to,
recruitment, orientation, training, managing, troubleshooting, implementation, reporting,
communications with and recognition of the volunteer crew. The RSVP Manager is responsible
for managing expectations of both internal and external stakeholders and is mission driven to
provide an extraordinary volunteer experience. Target Audience for volunteer recruitment is
for those 55 and older.

Job Responsibilities
• Providing administrative oversight of RSVP by ensuring compliance with terms and
conditions of the federal grant and applicable federal regulations.
• Develop strong relationships with the community which foster a positive image, making
the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program a choice among agencies and volunteers
• Represent the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program in public meetings, community events,
and community presentations
• Assist staff in recruiting from the Signature Program demographics
• Develop volunteer position descriptions
• Record all volunteer hours (individuals, groups, etc.) into the volunteer database
• Assist FHVC program staff to recruit potential volunteers and clients
• Coordinate volunteer program outreach and recruitment of volunteers
• Develop and maintain filing system with on-going and updated documentation
• Maintain communications with the volunteers through emails and phone calls
• Maintain communications with clients and agency representatives

• Enroll new volunteers and give a brief orientation of the program
• Recruit, train, place and supervise RSVP participants. Provide ongoing information and
support of volunteers. Orient and train site personnel and maintain a close working
rapport with volunteer stations.

Minimum Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Human
Services field
 Experience in program management, community organization, and human services desired
with knowledge of public relations and marketing
 Good interpersonal and management skills required
 Possess the ability to use discretion and be able to make decisions independently
 Effectively provide leadership and supervision to staff
 Ability to communicate positively and effectively with others
 Work independently as well as working as a productive part of the team
 Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license and must be in compliance with agency’s liability
carrier’s requirements or have resources for transportation
 Must pass a criminal history and abuse registry background check

Time Commitment: Full-time Exempt position requires 40 hours a week.
Salary: $53,000
