Job Description



Rainbow Summer Program is a 6-week summer educational enrichment program for 100 children who have completed grades K – 8.  Curriculum emphases include reading, financial literacy, gardening, nutrition, physical fitness, social action/community service, and parental involvement.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the site, ensure classroom facilitators have the necessary materials and supplies for their classrooms.
  • Provide guidance, support, encouragement, and constructive feedback to classroom facilitators.
  • Maintain team spirit among site staff and conduct debrief sessions at the end of each day. During the debrief sessions, provide technical assistance and feedback to the classroom facilitators on all aspects of their work.
  • Assist, as needed, with weekly parent workshops.
  • Maintain records and data entry- attendance, onboarding materials, student and family documents. 
  • Communicate directly with the Program Director and  keep the lines of communication open between staff.
  • Attend and co-lead local training.
  • Manage the read aloud guest calendar and thank you cards.



  • Experience managing large groups of children, college-age young people and parents.
  • Commitment to children’s advocacy and enthusiasm for education.
  • Motivated self-starter who looks for ways to contribute to the organization’s mission and is happy to assist with whatever needs to be done.
  • Hard working, flexible and responsible.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, oral, written and listening.
  • Able to work independently and in a team as the situation requires.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Effective team building, negotiations, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Good computer literacy skills


Education & Experience:

Three years experience with Rainbow Summer Program as a classroom facilitator or nonprofit community based organizational experience. Supervisory or management experience preferred.  Fluency in Spanish preferred. 

Hours and Compensation:  The seasonal summer position is approximately 40 hours a week at $18/hour between 5/31- 7/31.
