Seasonal Youth Soccer Coach
Rosedale Development Association (RDA) is a neighborhood nonprofit that works with residents, businesses, and institutions to develop a thriving Rosedale community. RDA envisions a place where all people feel safe and connected and live in quality neighborhoods that celebrate diversity in all forms, nourish creativity, support healthy living, and foster economic opportunity.
Purpose: Youth sports coaches help Rosedale Development Association create a culture of health in the Rosedale neighborhood of Kansas City, KS. You will be responsible for organizing your team’s practices and games.
Location: Coaches meetings will be held at the RDA office located at 1403 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, KS, 66103. Practices will be held at Rosedale Park on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 and games held on Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities: Volunteers will help players improve their skills by teaching the rules of the games and running drills and game plans.
Reports to RDA Program Coordinator and Executive Director
The Length of Appointment: 8 weeks
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week
Qualifications: Basic knowledge of the sport you choose to coach, strong communication skills and strong leadership skills, and background check clearance. In addition, previous experience working with children, basic Spanish-speaking skills, and CPR and First Aid training are helpful.
Volunteer Benefits: Volunteers will connect with local youth and instill in them the passion and love for sports and outdoor activities. Volunteers also have the opportunity to be featured in our monthly newsletter, as well as, RDA can act as a professional reference.
Age Requirement: 18+
Dress Code: Athletic wear, closed toed shoes, hat, and any other sport related safety attire
